PANS Supports Bilingual Day at the APCC, Oct 28th, 2018

Hello PANS Society Volunteers at Polish Bilingual Day in Troy, Michigan!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE PANS VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS FOR HELPING AT THE POLISH BILINGUAL DAY (PBD) CELEBRATION THIS PAST SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2018 AT THE AMERICAN POLISH CULTURAL CENTER IN TROY, MICHIGAN!

A GREAT BIG HAND OF APPLAUSE GOES TO MRS. MARZANNA OWINSKI, THE POLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL TEACHERS AND ALL THE VOLUNTEERS THAT CAME OUT ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2018 

TO THE AMERICAN POLISH CULTURAL CENTER IN TROY, MI. TO HELP MAKE THIS EVENT WITH BOTH THE POLISH SPEAKING AND THE NON POLISH SPEAKING CHILDREN A VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENT IN THE METRO DETROIT COMMUNITY. 

Our PANS Society Member Volunteers Showed the Children a Variety of Numismatic Related Projects.  Polish American Displays that dealt with the History and Culture of Poland and The Polish People in America and Europe. 

The Famous Polish People in World History and How One Can View Them Through Numismatics (Coin Collecting). 

At one point I counted about 24 children standing around the PANS Display of how medal coins were struck in the 13th. Century Poland.  Mr. Joseph Beaupied and Mr. Eric Lorentzen did a great job of explaining and showing the children the process of striking coins with medal dies and a heavy hammer.

A Great Big Thank You also goes to Prezes  Przemysław Ziemba and Mr. Szymon Bereska of PTN (Polskie Towarzystwo Numizmatyczne) in Warsaw, Poland for helping us make the medal dies for this project.

Mr. Ronald Slobodnik and other PANS Volunteers did a wonderful job of explaining how to use the 10 x 21mm Coin Magnifiers.

These children also received a small 10 power chrome medal magnifier on a PANS Red lanyard with White Lettering (Polish American Numismatic Society).

We gave out over 160 of these 10 x 21mm chrome medal magnifiers with our PANS Logo to the children.

Mr. Michael Swidwinski and Ms. MaryJo Displayed an Outstanding Exhibit About the Polish Husaria Winged Armor and King Jan Sobieski. 

Thank You to Our Volunteers Mr. Peter Zouboul and Mr. Michael Rosik for an Outstanding Video and Sound effects exhibit of the Nicholas Copernicus Heliocentric Model.

Miss Julia Klepko along with her Father Mr. Dariusz Klepko had a Very Interesting Exhibit on the 100th. Anniversary of Poland’s Independence of November 11, 1918. 

Mr. Miro Dzieciątko had a Very Informative Exhibit on the Coins and Paper Money of Poland after 1945 to the Present Time. 

Mr. Lester Rosik, PANS Society President, had Five Different Polish Exhibits.

His First Exhibit was on the Two Dynasties of Poland ( Piast and the Jagiellonian Dynasty and and Elected Kings of Poland). 

Second, was on the Meanings and the Use of the Two Flags of Poland (One White and Red Without the Crowned Eagle and One White and Red With the Crowned Eagle) and Which Flag One Should Fly and Why.

Third, was on the Early 10th. to 16th. Century Minting of Coins in Poland. 

Fourth, was on the Revolutionary Heroes of America and Poland (Kazimierz Pułaski and Tadeusz Koścuszko).

Fifth, was on Nicholas Copernicus The Astronomer and Economist of the (QTM) Quantity Theory of Money.  

Thank You to Mrs. Maria Kittell for putting the cellophane wrapped goodies of coins and numismatic related items in neatly wrapped packs with colorful ribbons. All 150 were distributed to the children. 

Thank You to Mr. Edward Twarog, a Professional Photographer and PANS Society Member who Volunteered his Time and Talent to Take Professional Photos of The PANS Society Events and PANS Society Exhibits at the Polish Bilingual Day in Troy, MI.
