VAMs, POW scrip experts on bill for CSNS seminar

Experts on VAMs, POW tokens, Indian Head 5-cent pieces, Winged Liberty dimes and coin conservation will speak at the Central States Numismatic Society’s seminar on Feb. 15. The event is co-hosted by the Windsor Coin Club and the Polish-American Numismatic Society. The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Polish-American Cultural Center, 2975 E Maple Rd., Troy, MI. Breakfast and lunch are included. Education Director Ray Lockwood said the lineup includes: Dr. Michael Fey: Find a Fortune in Silver Dollars Fey, president of Rare Coin Investments, is co-author of Top 100 Morgan Dollar Varieties: The VAM Keys. He has discovered and published more than 50 Morgan and Peace dollar varieties. Dr. David Frank: Camp Scrip of World War II Frank spoke at the St. Louis seminar in May on the future of the hobby. Bill Fivaz: Grading Buffaloes and Mercs Fivaz is co-author of the Cherrypickers’ and Counterfeit Detection guides. Susan Maltby: Saving Money Maltby, a museum conservator, is an expert in caring for and preserving coins and paper money. She is widely know for her Coin World column, Preserving Collectibles Lockwood noted, “This is a ‘dream team’ and well worth attending.” Advance registration is required.
